Joël Richard switched from “traditional weight training” to CrossFit at the tender age of 41. Since discovering functional fitness, his stamina has improved, his all-around discipline is better and cognitively, he is more focused than he's ever been before. At 46, Joel feel stronger and more confident than when he first started.

In 2021, he decided to take it one step further by obtaining his OL1 credentials to both enhance his skills as a CrossFit athlete and to share with others something he believes can alter lives for the better.

Nadia has been an active member of the RBCK adventure since its very beginning in 2012. In 2013 she obtained her CrossFit L1 certificate to further develop her skills and knowledge, which also gave her the ability to share this amazing sport with others. She wholeheartedly believes that functional fitness combined with the inclusiveness and unique community atmosphere at RBCK is the perfect combination for anyone chasing a healthier lifestyle.

Nadia absolutely loves teaching the fundamentals and introducing beginners to this wonderful sport. Whether on the mic, as a judge or as a participant, you will always see her face in local competitions and events.

Wade's health and fitness journey began over 40 years ago, during which time he ran a successful personal training business and obtained a university degree in Physical Health and Education. Throughout these years his interest in the gym gravitated mostly around bodybuilding and powerlifting.

In 2012 he was introduced to a well-rounded, functional type of training known as CrossFit.  He quickly discovered that this all-encompassing method of training benefited him much more in dealing with the physical and psychological demands of his policing career than what he'd previously been doing.  He found CrossFit to be so beneficial to him that he ended up successfully completing his Level 1 CrossFit Trainer course shortly after.

In 2013 he worked alongside his wife, Tania Torok, to apply for and earn the right to become an affiliate of CrossFit, and Rock Box CrossFit Kapuskasing was established. Over the years he's competed in numerous CrossFit competitions in Ontario and qualified for the Age Group Online qualifier for the CrossFit Games in 2021.

Wade has continued his fitness education, having taken the CrossFit Gymnastics course, and is currently an Ontario Police Fitness Award Appraiser under the Police Fitness Personnel Ontario Organization for the Ontario Provincial Police, also serving as a health and fitness resource and mentor for members of the OPP.
